JOIN bunkerbunker!! & The daydrinkers collective FOR 2 DAYS & 2 NIGHTS!

This two day tour offers an immersive experience into the food, landscapes, producers and drinking culture of Chiang Dao, Thailand, an hour’s drive north of Chiang Mai.

Get up close to bee hives in fruit orchards and forests to see the hives as the honey is produced, all whilst tasting different varieties of honey.

Experience the Daydrinker’s winery, taste the different flavours and learn about their fermentation and wine making process.

A super exclusive visit to Pa Tung Ngam Village to meet the resilient, self-sufficient Karen Tribe folk. This is really a special experience that is totally out of the tourist spectrum and what makes this not just a tour but an adventure!

Live a day in their lives, see how they make, create and grow everything they need and especially, they will show us fruits of harvest that goes into making fruit wines and a traditional method to distilling rice liquor.

We end with a big tribe’s style roast and feast in the fields all with food sourced from the village lands.

DAY 1 - DAYDRINKERS HQ, CHIANG DAO

WAKE UP
Optional early cafe meet-up for anyone who is keen to join, or some of you may be making the drive up from Chiang Mai City.

LUNCH
Meet for lunch at daydrinkers HQ, home cooked Thai food, local and garden produce followed by briefings and introductions.

TOUR
Daydrinkers honey winery tour, taste all the flavours and experimental batches, paired with local snacks.

Explore longan orchards and forest hives showing how our honey is collected and get to taste different varieties of honey that we use.

DINNER
Sunset dinner back at daydrinkers HQ. Home cooked food set up on the top floor overlooking Chiang Dao mountain and wildlife sanctuary.

RELAX
Soak in the local hot springs and cold stream before ending the night.

REST
Back to Hotel, or free and easy.

DAY 2 - PA TUNG NGAM VILLAGE & THE KAREN TRIBE

BRUNCH
Local eatery with some of the best Laab and Northern Thai dishes in the area.

VILLAGE TOUR
We will arrive at Pa Tung Ngam, the Karen tribe village, surrounded by beautiful mountains and clean streams, and is completely self sufficient.

We source some of our honey from this village and we will introduce you to our friend who grows pineapples, strawberries, different types of berries and mulberries and makes fruit wine from them.

She also makes distilled rice liquor and limoncello from local lemons infused in rice liquor. We will take you on a walking tour of this village, show you everything that is grown whilst tasting all the drinks that are made here.

TRIBE FEAST
For dinner we will have some local home made Karen tribe food in one of our friends houses in this village. A must try when visiting this area.

FAQs

  • Chiang Dao is HERE, in North Thailand, close to the border between Thailand and China! Vast in nature and filled with amazingly friendly people.

  • Pa Tung Ngam Village is an hours drive north of Chiang Dao and a lil off the beaten track!

  • This trip will be a minimum of 6 and maximum of 12 people per group, trip will be confirmed once we gather 6 signups per date.

  • Fret not! A detailed schedule with instructions and information as well as a whatsapp group chat will be available to you once you have registered with the trip!

  • The meeting point will be in Chiang Dao, we can assist to arrange transport from Chiang Mai city where you will most probably be flying into.

  • It is recommended that you join the tour in pairs or multiples of 2 people.

  • Everyone will be staying in a beautiful villa style BnB together, with isolated private rooms that has air conditioning, ensuite toilets and all the daily necessities. Also comes with a pool and mediation / hang out corners.

  • We have selected dates in the year where the weather is not too hot and not too cold, so you can dress casually though it may get a chilly at night.

  • Essential items you may consider bringing: a day bag, sunnies, water bottle, drinking cup, outdoor shoes, swimwear, headlamp, cash for tips.
